Class: Bento Box (Japanese)
Teacher: Jessica Chan
Date: 29th April 2017, 11am
No. of students: 3
Difficulty Level: 3 out of 5
Lesson was mostly taught in Cantonese but Ms. Chan was kind enough to repeat in English just for me. Maximum number of students is 4. We had 3 students, including myself.
After class thoughts:
Firstly, it was pretty easy to register class online and sign in for class through the machine, at the reception.
Secondly, I get to learn a few tricks on how to make cooking process more efficient from the teacher.
Thirdly, the cooking tasks are shared among the students so class would take less than 2 hours to complete.
Fourthly, you need to bring your own boxes if you want to take away your final product. Plus, you need to sign a consent form (ABC Cooking Studio will not be responsible if there is any food poisoning since the food is not consumed right after class).
Lastly, my husband finally agreed to let me make him bento box for lunch. I guess I was not good enough back then… We have been married for 2 years and finally on our third year, he agreed! This bento box requires a great amount of work though.
I brought home (without the smoothie) for my husband to try
He loves the fish (yellowtail/Japanese Amberjack) and the taste brings back memories. Rice was good too. The carrot salad was not to his liking. Pan fried pork was acceptable. Egg was too salty. Guess I can make adjustments for a lighter taste.
Heading for another class tomorrow.
Till then…
