My first trip to Sydney in less than SGD1,000 for 4D3N solo trip.
What can I say? I am so proud of myself! Below is the breakdown. I did not track on how much I spend on food & shopping though.
The great savings was the return air ticket that I got through one of Scoot’s promotions. I subscribed for Scoot’s promotion newsletter. I will get promotion updates via emails. I was just randomly check prices at night and found a great bargain. 30th April – 2nd May (1st May was a public holiday), so I took only a day off.
For accommodation, I preferred hotel. I love Vulcan Hotel’s building structure and it is located around Chinatown. This means I can snack at night. It is near to Sydney Fish Market too. I booked Vulcan Hotel for SGD600 earlier at Expedia.com, with free cancellation policy. Later, I found Agoda.com with only SGD 400 for 3 nights.
Again, I subscribed to Agoda.com and just thought of checking the price. Found and made the reservation, and cancelled the previous booking.
Sydney 4 Attraction Passes, I saw it on Scoot magazine when I was taking Scoot to Taiwan. I noted the website and booked later when I finalized my Sydney itinerary. I visited Sydney wildlife Zoo, Madame Tussauds, Sydney Eye Tower & Sydney Aquarium.
I will share my itinerary below. I did a lot of walking because I wanted to sight see. It was easy with Google Map.
I did a short video of my day 1. I wasted time waiting at the airport for the transport because I missed the ride. I was waiting to get SIM card… Afterwards, I realized I could get it anywhere… Just take note if you are taking a private transport, be on time…
I just meet a friend for dinner and had a walk around Darling Harbor.
This is my virgin edited video, uploaded to YouTube. I will get better at it…
I like Sydney. People were nice. Some of my friends had bad experiences though. Racist experiences but I guess it happens everywhere.
I want to go back to Sydney. Hopefully, to visit wine and cheese tours. Below is my itinerary and yes, I followed it strictly. I did a lot of walking on Day 2. I took longer than I expected for the attractions.
