Ritz Carlton Bali, September 2015

Had a short trip to Bali last month. Went to Ubud for 2 nights and Nusa Dua for 1 night.

Stayed at Ritz Carlton in Nusa Dua. It was newly opened in December 2014. The view is what we saw when we first enter into the lobby after the security check.

The reason we visited Bali again was to inspect the venue for our wedding. Last year November, we visited several hotels for our wedding venue. Ritz Carlton was not officially opened yet. Hence, we had to go back to Bali this year.

We contacted the wedding planner and finally set the date to visit. My husband has been busy with work. We only managed to visit Bali in September this year instead of February. We were pretty excited. Yasu has been working super hard and this trip would be good for him to relax a little.

We had a bad experience with the wedding planner. We had visited other hotels’ wedding planners. They were very professional and informed us well regarding the available packages. We are specially impressed with St Regis. However, we we surprised with Ritz Carlton’s service. The wedding planner just showed us the chapel. She did not show us the preparation room. She mentioned to us there is no wedding packages and they were flexible.

My husband and I were also interested in having our wedding at the villa too. However, she informed us that the villa is occupied and they will check-out only the following day. We were set to leave at 4pm the following day and thought we might be able to have a look before we leave. We mentioned that we do not mind the state of the room. We just want to have a look before we make our final decision.

She promised that she will inform us once the room is ready. I got her number and messaged her in the morning. Again, she promised she will inform us soon. However, I had to message her in the afternoon and informed us the room is not ready yet.

Finally at 4pm, we checked out and called her. My husband and I were unsatisfied with her service. It seems like I have to be the one servicing her. My messages have been polite. I do not understand why she doesn’t seem to care about our wedding.

She finally showed us the villa. We had a quick view and left. Before our departure, she mentioned she will send us the wedding packages. Wait, she mentioned there wasn’t any…

Overall, we were not happy with our stay with Ritz Carlton Bali because of one staff…. I was calm and decided to feedback my bad experience to Ritz Carlton FaceBook, TripAdvisor & the lady who serviced us.

Wedding is a one time thing for most people. We put our wedding on hold because we want to view Ritz Carlton Bali before making the decision. Very disappointed inspection with Ritz Carlton.

Anyway, the rest was great.

The suite was really comfortable.

We had our 3rd Anniversary at Beach Grill Restaurant. The food was normal. Nothing impressive compared to St Regis’s Kayuputi. I will definitely go back to St Regis Bali for the amazing food.

However, the staff at Beach Grill were really sweet to provide us a cake & a card with their well wishes.

The staff was really kind to provide us complimentary late checkout. We enjoyed the pool in the afternoon and I got a nice tan.

Planning for our wedding and there is so much to prepare. Family & friends flying from Singapore, Netherlands, Japan, China & within Indonesia. A lot to manage and hope our guests can have a good time. We have decided the wedding venue & date.

Got my wedding dress & evening gown from Japan in June. We still need to get our wedding band, Yasu’s suit and many other things.

Heading back to Japan this year to spend Christmas & New Year. Excited to be in Japan again.

P.S: Ritz Carlton Bali contacted us after the feedback I sent. However, damage has been done. The reason I am sharing my bad experience is to highlight and hope others will not receive the same service we had. However, the rest of the Ritz Carlton Bali staff were doing a fantastic job. Keep up the good work.
