Saw this picture years ago and saved it because I wanted to get into that shape. It never happened and I put on 10kg within a year…
Being a housewife for the past 6 months, gave me time to think about how I have lived my life. I felt I have neglected myself for the longest time. While trying to climb the corporate ladder, I sacrificed my time and health. Also indulging in food, failing to realise after 30, body seems to function differently.
Metabolism decreases but I still feast like I was 21. Before I know it, I had trouble fitting into my clothes. I see a chubby me in photos.
I was only upset when I can’t fit in my wedding dress. I used to have high metabolism rate. After 30, everything seems so much harder.
I got Fitbit Alta in March 2016 to track my fitness. I was able to lose another 5kg after coming to Hong Kong. I “walked off” my fats.
Things that I track on my Fitbit:
1. Weight (Mar’16 – Sep’17)
2. Exercise (Target 5 days of exercises)
3. Water intake (Started recently)
4. Daily steps
5. Calories intake
Losing weight became easier because I watch what I eat. However, I realised I was not building muscles.
After much research and meeting several personal trainers, I have finally engaged with one. I talked to each personal trainer to understand what they can provide to achieve my goal. Most important of all, I need to feel comfortable with the personal trainer.
I get intimidated with hardcore personal trainers. I do not wish to have someone shouting at me to push me to work harder. I don’t think I need someone to really track my food intake because I am tracking it daily on my Fitbit and I started to take notes on my food intake daily.
Weight doesn’t speak much as I understand more. Below is a girl I followed on Instagram.
This video says it all…
My initial fat percentage was 25.5%. According to ideal body fat percentage chart, I was average.
As of 8th September 2017, my body fat is 22.3%. I have reduced 3.2% of body fat and hoping to get it to Athletes level.
Anyway, first session with the personal trainer was more of an assessment of my body and how synchronise I am when it comes to weight lifting.
It seems my personal trainer is happy with the assessment.
1. Body is well proportion (both arms & calves sizes are similar)
2. Waist is 27 inch (To reduce)
3. Weight was 50.6kg (Not aiming to reduce)
4. Well coordinated when lifting
5. Flexible (Thanks to yoga but I need more flexibility)
I am having 3 sessions of personal training each week.
Taking BCAA to prevent my muscles from breaking down due to the low carbs diet.
Hopefully to see good results at the end of the personal trainer course.
Till then…
