Why learn French? Just because I love learning. French sounds beautiful to me and I hope to speak French when I visit France again. Learning a language is fun because you get to know about the culture and how they think.
Did some online research on where to learn French and decided with Alliance Francaise because of the class schedule and good reviews online.
There are 3 levels for Basic Course
Starter Kit
Consist of textbook, workbook, notebook & sleek looking pencil
French has great sense of design.
I prefer digital. You can purchase the textbooks for your iPad. I use Notability to take notes. It reduces the amount of stuff to carry.
I have attended 2 lessons and it has been delightful. Teacher has been such a sweetheart. She makes the class interesting and she interacts with all the students.
Classroom have round tables for more interaction.
Total of 10 students including myself.
A guy in his 60s, apparently still working when I thought he was retired. He is learning for business purpose. He was lost throughout the whole lesson but teacher has been encouraging.
One fellow Singaporean, who has many French friends. Very good with her listening.
5 housewives, including myself. 1 American, 4 locals and me (Indonesian because I have a hard time saying Singaporean in French).
American housewife is learning because her 5 year old kid will be learning French. 4 local housewives thought the language is very beautiful. One of them learnt previously for 6 months.
2 young kids. One of them is going to study in Switzerland while the other wanted to work in the circus in Europe. French is a requirement.
Alliance Francaise has been in Hong Kong since 1953.
