Seryo Ryokan (芹生 ) @ Ohara, Kyoto

My first visit to Kyoto was in September 2014 and it was breathtaking. I loved the old & modern mixed. People would ask what is the best season to go Japan. I personally think one should visit the same place each season.

Just going to update our ryokan stay @ Ohara in September 2014. I was checking the pictures I took from the trip and realized I took really bad pictures 2 years ago. Hence, most of the pictures will be from their official website. Rest assured what you see is what you get.

Seryo ryokan is located at Ohara (rural town, north part of Kyoto), 70 minute bus ride from Kyoto station. It is worth the trip because you get to visit Sanzen-in Temple.

Seryo has a total of 9 Japanese,
Western or Japanese-western type guest-rooms, all facing the beautifully landscaped Japanese garden.

Below was the room we stayed in (SGD 275 per person with 1 night stay & 2 meal).

My husband, after a good onsen

Comfortable room with great view. Good food with great view. Good onsen with great view. I loved the place and hope to go back again.

After onsen, you can wear the yukata provided by the ryokan and have your dinner or breakfast. It felt great!

Anyway, there are other rooms that you can consider if you plan to stay over.
It would be great to take the stay with 2 meals (dinner & breakfast)
