Traveling to Japan, I am always amazed by how presentable Japanese ladies are. The makeup looks prefect, their outfits were so classy and how they set their hairstyle so impeccable. I tried and failed miserably. My husband would laughed at my effort.
So this time back to Japan, I decided to do a makeover. First, my hair. I wasn’t born with soft silky hair. It is corse and fluffy.
So I did my research and found Depart @ Hanare. I like the concept of their salon. Below is their shop.
This is what you see when you open the door.
I was asked to take a seat on the 1st floor to fill in my details. Yes, I filled in Japanese.
Then, they guided me to the 2nd floor for my makeover.
My hairstylist was Yamada san. He was very attentive and made sure I get what I wanted. He is very popular and he had many appointments. He explained to me what he was going to do next and how long it will take. He told me it will take about 3.5 hours for me and made sure I was well taken care off.
The assistant was Watanabe san. He washed my hair and gave me a resting pillow for my arms.
I went for straightening and hair dye. Nothing too much, just subtle changes. I wanted to perm my ends but I was advised not to as my hair was too dry. I went shopping for wedding stuff after my hair makeover. That will explain why I was wearing flower hairpiece.
Yamada san was nice, he helped me to curl my ends. At the same time, he taught me how to curl.
So how did I find which salon to go to? Simple, I went to http://beautynavi.woman.excite.co.jp/.
This is a website where they consolidate salons within Japan. They are so well organized. You can pick by the hairstyles you like, area or hairstylists.
So I pick from the pictures of hairstyle. For example below. Once you click on the picture, it will show you what hair services were done, which salon, who was the stylist, what kind of style/image, suitable for which age range etc.
Everything is in Japanese but you can use Google translate if you don’t understand Japanese.
They even gave the customers’ profile.
If you happen to be in Tokyo and wanted a hairstyle makeover, visit Depart. I am sure they will take good care of your needs. Actually, any hair salon in Tokyo would be great. Visit their website below. You can make reservation online. If you are a first time customer, you can enjoy discount using their coupon.
I will update again on where to shop in Japan for nice clothes, wedding stuff and where to do nails. My husband introduced me to some really nice brands. I did some shopping but nothing like crazy buying.
Till then…
Wow. Surprise to see even Saloon is going into exommerce as well in Japan.
