Taipei Marriott @ Taipei, Taiwan

Taiwan is one of my favourite countries to visit because of the good food, culture & shopping. I feel it is similar to Japan but relatively cheaper.

Hotels in Taiwan are affordable and loads of options to choose from. They also have themed hostels and minsu (homestay or bed & breakfast) to choose from. Spoilt for choices.

This time we are staying with Taipei Marriott. I am so glad we stayed with them because we flew from Japan. We took a taxi straight from the airport to hotel (TWD 1,300 / SGD 59). Check-in process was pretty fast and once we got to our room, I went for a swim and my husband went to the gym.

We were able to relax after our flight.

It would be great to stay at a higher floor for a good view. We stayed 2 nights on 2 floors. First night was on 11th floor, view was much better and the toilet was automatic (Japanese style). We checked out and left for Jiufen for a night and checked in the following day, we stayed on the 7th floor. No view and the toilet was the conventional type.

Wonder why the difference even though it was the same room type.

Overall, the stay with Taipei Marriott was great. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good.

The breakfast was at Garden Kitchen

I did not take any pictures of the room but you can check out Taipei Marriott website or TripAdvisor for more pictures. It is a new hotel with great facilities and services.

If you are taking a taxi, maybe it would be better to inform the driver of the hotel name in Chinese (台北萬豪酒店). The driver did not seem to know Taipei Marriott but when I mentioned in Chinese, he told me the address right away. Hope this helps.

The hotel is located near MRT Jiannan Road Station (5 minutes walk). Just across the street from the hotel, there is a UBike station where you can rent the bike and explore Taipei.
