Just came back from our trip yesterday. It was great but we felt it was too short.
We were choosing between Sofitel & Ritz Carlton hotel. After much discussion, we decided to try Sofitel as it was a newer building. The hotel is located at Klong Muang Beach.

The service was really good. When we first check-in, we were greeted warmly with lemongrass drinks, cold towels and flowers.
The check-in was fast and smooth. A staff in traditional Thai costume, Chut Thai, showed us to our room. She informed us on the facilities they had.

The pictures on the website have been photoshop dramatically. Maybe I should show my pictures instead. This is the king size bed.
This is the view we got from our room. Tip, ask for high floor to get a nice view. The highest floor is third.

The hotel is well-thought with many dining options & leisure facilities.
For dining, they have Italian, International, Thai and Indian food.

We had our dinner the first night
We had Thai food at the Italian restaurant. Apparently, the Thai restaurant is under construction. Actually, you also can have the Indian food. One place with 3 menus.

The downside of staying in Sofitel is the distance from Krabi Town & Ao Nang Beach. There is shuttle bus service (with fixed timing).
We missed the timings on our first night and had to pay 600 Baht (SGD 23.17) for taxi, for 1 way trip to Ao Nang Beach. Sofitel provided each room with a one time complimentary 1 way shuttle bus service. Hence, the ride back was free.
The second night, we spent 1,000 Baht (SGD 38.62) to Krabi Town and 600 Baht (SGD 23.17) back. Total of 1,600 Baht (SGD 61.80).
The transport from Krabi Airport to Sofitel is a fixed price of 700 Baht while from Sofitel to Krabi Airport is 900 Baht (SGD 34.76).
Overall stay was great but the price for traveling is too expensive and the distance was too far. In total, we spent 3,800 Baht (SGD 146.77) just for transport.
Sofitel to Ao Nang Beach- 30 minutes (600 Baht)
Sofitel to Krabi Town – 45 minutes (1,000 Baht)
Sofitel to Krabi Airport – 45 minutes (900 Baht)
The next time to Krabi, we would stay at Ao Nang Beach instead. For the convenience and reduced traveling time & expenses. There is airport shuttle bus to Ao Nang Beach and Krabi Town.
Anyway, it was a good trip.
